Breakfast skillet was great. Needed a little more chorizo but outstanding flavor.
Red head scenery too! -

Traveling through, we found this place on Yelp and decided to try it. We're glad we did. It was a Sunday evening about 8pm and we were there for dinner. The place had cleared out after a Chicago Bears game so we had the place to ourselves. We sat at the bar. My wife got a salad and shared my rack of ribs. The bar tender was helpful and knowledgeable with the beer, and the ribs were great. I agree with the good reviews. We didn't experience the issues that have been posted in the less than great reviews. This is more than just 'bar food'. There is an effort to elevate the food and it shows.

Dirty water glasses and this little racist gem (and I don't care if it is vintage beer advertising) is reason enough to cross this place off the list when we are down that way to hike the parks. The food was meh, seasoned fries lacked seasoning and my burger that was ordered medium came out grey and cooked through

We have eaten here three times now. Twice for breakfast and once for lunch. We really enjoy the creative options that you don't find elsewhere and the smoked meats are excellent! This has quickly become one of our go-to spots in the Kankakee area.

Food is just average. The bartender Jake is clueless on spirits and how to make the drinks. Lots of good spirits there but if you don't got the skill or customer service then why even stock it. Hire someone who might want the job there. Why this place exists is beyond me.
